Does it remind you of other kinds of adhesives? I've never had a problem with a bandaid. If you look at palerider's picture of the resmed filter.you can see that it doesn't even come close to sealing shut the holes and actually if it was taped to the holes and as long as the tape didn't touch the holes.there is enough openness of the mesh filter to allow adequate venting. Stuart (who came up with this mask) is a cpap user for over 22 years and he is also a sleep lab tech.he's well aware of the cautions and potential issues.if he is comfortable with these ideas then I am comfortable with them. Stuart even used a sock to test as a diffuser. The force of the vented air through the holes is sufficient for adequate ventilation as long as there is somewhere for the air to go. You just don't want to totally seal the holes like with tape or some plastic of some sort. This comes from the manufacturer and they have tested it with the gauze as well as denser products and there is still enough air movement out the holes to not cause a carbon dioxide build up. Ultimately what is in the design plans (at least at this time) is a little clip on cover where a person snips off a piece of gauze and slides it over the vent holes and then the little clip holds the gauze in place. I didn't have any of the standard mesh ResMed filters, that I could find anyway, other than the denser hypo allergenic filters and didn't want to use it as it was and didn't want to pull it apart.so I opted to try a Resprionics System One Filter put on like Palerider did his.it works.a little small but it works. Then Palerider came up with using the mesh standard filter from a ResMed machine.did you see his picture of his little trick? Once the tape came loose I just used it without any diffusing and discovered it was a non issue for me. I taped up by the top of the silicon part of the mask and tape just doesn't stick well to silicone. I didn't use any tape anywhere around the vent holes. I used it the first 3 nights like that and then the tape securing the gauze came loose. All our cpap life we have had "don't block the vents" drilled into our heads and then the first thing we go and do.we sort of block the vents. I was also a bit nervous and that's why I used only 1 layer of gauze material. I had an old piece of gauze left over from a tooth extraction. Thanks in advance.Ī layer of gauze (pull a gauze pad apart) will diffuse it enough so it pretty much feels like the P10 diffusing and it still lets the carbon dioxide get expelled. I would want something to spread out but not block the co2. Would all the co2 still be able to come out of the vent? This is the only thing that makes me nervous. Or at least hope that it will.I had question about the Dreamport venting and putting a homemade filter to diffuse. Once I saw the news release and the fact that Stuart got the grant/money.I did do a happy dance because I anticipate that it will speed up production and release. When I have asked I have been told "hopefully 6 months".and have been told that for at least a year now. Please don't ask me "when" because I am not a party to any of that stuff. I don't think that Stuart has plans (at least for now) to sell his baby.Īll I can legally say is Bleep lovers will absolutely love the Eclipse and yes.much easier to figure out if the ports are connected correctly and easier to connect as well. It got pushed back due to money situation and the covid situation impacting just about everything. The design has been in the works for quite a while now and I have been holding my breath and crossing my fingers and toes anxiously awaiting its release. Since Stuart runs the blog at the bleep website I am sure he realizes that the little release is going to stir up a lot of questions about the Eclipse.Īll I can tell you is send Stuart a private message.you can find the contact information at the bleep website.and ask him about anticipated release date for the Eclipse referred to in the news release posted on his website. Looks like they're doing just fine and perhaps the next version will make it easier to tell if my ports are connected well!Īhhh.that little release. I read about it here because now that I love Bleep I'm scared it's going to get bought out. It is the next generation Bleep but I didn't know that there were details out there about it.įunny, it really does sound like a James Bond thing. But if I told you what I know I would have to kill you.
